And now I'm writing about it! So my ultimate suggestion for WWE is a simple one: bring back The Legend Killer. Orton is a third-generation professional wrestler his grandfather Bob Orton, father Bob Orton Jr., and uncle Barry Orton were all wrestlers. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand. Just like that, my interest in The Viper had returned. Randal Keith Orton (born April 1, 1980), is an American professional wrestler and actor. This may sound crazy, but it sparked something for me. So how does one go about fixing this? As seen on SmackDown two weeks ago, Orton attacked Rob Van Dam. Orton is in need of a serious character change. Does anyone else see a problem here? Randy has spent most of this year putting over Roman Reigns and The Shield, Daniel Bryan, and ultimately, John Cena. Orton's last pay-per-view win was in February at Elimination Chamber. Just a few months later at TLC, Orton picked up the World Heavyweight Championship as well. The third-generation superstar received a big push in late 2013 when he won the WWE Championship. Not only that, but Orton has hit a rough patch in his career lately. Over the last several months, I have found that many fans don't care about Randy Orton anymore. After that, I never liked Orton the same as when he caught my attention in 2011. Seeing my "childhood hero" get in trouble like that left me disappointed. After Orton verbally punked Foley late in 2003, a rejuventated ‘Hardcore Legend’ returned with a vengeance at the Royal Rumble to cost Orton in the 30-man gauntlet. When I had read about his Wellness Policy suspension, I was crushed. MICK FOLEY, WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP, HARDCORE RULES (04/18/04, Backlash) It was the best storyline of 2004, period. Things got even more interesting a few weeks later when Orton was drafted to SmackDown and he won the World Heavyweight Championship in the same week! I continued to be a big fan of Randy Orton until the summer of 2012.
